Privacy notice

This notice covers the contact form, the interest list, your account and the questionnaire. This site is informational; it does not provide medical services, diagnosis, screening, or advice.

Contact form and interest list

The contact form collects what you type into it: your name, email address, whether you are a parent, caregiver, or clinician, and your message. Submissions are delivered to our team mailbox ([email protected]) and are not stored on this website's servers. Please do not send medical or health information about yourself or your child through the contact form.

If you check the interest-list box, we keep your email address — and nothing else — so we can let you know when Jump Start Autism launches. Email [email protected] at any time to be removed.

Your account

You need an account to open the questionnaire. You sign in with a passkey or with your email address and password, and you can add a second step: a code from an authenticator app or a code we email you. If you forget your password, we email you a link to reset it.

Your account holds your email address and your sign-in details. When you sign in, we also record the IP address and browser type of that session, to keep the account secure. Your answers are stored separately from these sign-in details.

Signing in sets a cookie that keeps you signed in. It is needed for your account to work and is not used for advertising or tracking. If you stop for a while, we warn you and then sign you out.

Where your answers are saved

Your answers are saved to your account as you go, and they are encrypted. The name you give each child, to tell questionnaires apart, is encrypted too. After you sign in, you can carry on from any device.

Only one device or browser tab can edit a questionnaire at a time. Others can view it until you choose to move editing to them. If your connection drops, the page may hold your newest changes in this browser until your account confirms it has saved them.

The finished questionnaire gives you two documents: your report and your answers. You download them and share them with your child's clinician yourself. This website does not send them to anyone.

How long we keep your answers

  • Not finished, or finished but not yet downloaded:deleted after 30 days without activity. Every time you continue working on it, the 30 days start again.
  • After either PDF first downloads successfully:your answers and both documents are kept for 48 hours, then deleted. This time is fixed. Signing in again or downloading again does not extend it.
  • Any time you choose: you can delete a questionnaire from your account straight away.

Your account shows the exact date and time each questionnaire will be deleted. To delete one, we destroy the encryption key that protects it. Once that key is gone, nobody, including us, can read what was saved.

Emails we send

We send these short emails to the address on your account:

  • 7 days and 1 day before an inactive questionnaire is deleted
  • 24 hours before your documents are deleted after download
  • when your report is ready for you to review
  • password reset links and sign-in codes, when you ask for them

These emails never include your child's details or any of your answers. A late or missed email does not change when anything is deleted.

Questionnaire answers and AI

We save your original answers so you can prepare your report. OpenAI helps with wording under the Company's API account. Before sending text, we replace known child and parent names and their name parts, date of birth, emails and phone numbers with placeholders. We restore those values here after the AI returns its draft.

Other names, schools, addresses and events you type may remain and may identify your family. This is not anonymous data. The four “hard things” answers never go to the AI, but they can appear in your report.

The AI service does not train on API data by default. Turning response storage off does not mean that the service keeps no data: its safety logs may retain content for up to 30 days, subject to exceptions and account settings.

You review and approve the wording. No doctor reviews the report. Once your answers are complete, preparing the report can carry on after you close the page. If AI is off or fails, report preparation pauses while your answers can still save.
